Every single conflict experienced within the Objective Story Throughline of Rises finds its genesis in this narrative Element of Equity.

As is the climactic battle in the streets. What you said about structures. About shackles. The injustice. Wayne gets away free and clear, and the bad guys no longer terrorize Gotham.

In Dramatica theory, subjective labels like "good" and "bad" are verboten. The objective function of a character is where an Author truly determines who is the Protagonist and Antagonist and consequently, whether or not the story ends in Success or Failure.

Talia pursues a course of revenge, forcing the city of Gotham to consider the lies fostered upon them by their heroes. Wayne avoids confrontation, then turns to all-out prevention to save the city.

He works to get Bane and Talia and most importantly, Selena, to reconsider their actions. With a failed Story Goal, the Story Consequences comes into play.

Here, the Story Consequence of Conceptualizing is one last manipulation play by the likes of Gordon and the Batman--forcing the people of Gotham to re-conceptualize their city.

All those taken to court are sentenced to death regardless of the verdict. He enlists the aid of Lucius Fox, Commissioner Gordon, Selina Kyle, and John Blake to put together a plan to rescue as many citizens of Gotham as they can and diffuse the bomb.

In the ensuing melee Batman singles out Bane and this time, he defeats him.
